Dammam is the regional capital of the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. This is home to a vast sea, beautiful beaches and excellent fishing spots. It is a favorite destination for tourists from different parts of the Kingdom. Dammam is considered as one of the most ancient inhabited places due to the discovery of many ancient artifacts in Rakah neighborhood, pointing out that Dammam was a famous place for dwelling long time in the past.
Dammam and the surrounding areas
You will be fascinated by Dammam’s sea weather and pearl bright beaches where you can enjoy sightseeing while taking a walk on the Corniche and practicing many other beach sports. If you choose you can go to King Fahd Park, and spend luxury time in cafes, swimming pools, fountains and green spaces which are full of life.
Tarout Castle and the Old Town
It is an archeological landmark located in the center of Tarout Island dating back to 5000 years. It features a traditional architectural style and it was built on the ruins of former settlements and civilizations.
King Abdullah Park
It is located on the seafront in Dammam. It is the most modern destinations with distinctive design and it involves extensive green spaces equipped with all the services, such as restaurants, children's playgrounds, fountains and theater for holding celebrations and festivals
King Fahad Park
It lies between Dammam and Dhahran cities on the Al Khaleej highway. It is considered as one of the largest parks in the Eastern Province. A main water current measuring 570 meter by 15 meter graces this park. Besides, the park has numerous waterfalls, eight bridges to facilitate people’s movement from one side to the other, and two artificial lakes, huge amusement rides, many restaurants and other service facilities fill the park.
Dammam Corniche
Tourism Authority has rendered appealing nature and beautiful views to it. It includes green spaces and sandy areas, children's playgrounds, kiosks and service facilities. Famously, national celebrations and Eid ceremonies are held on it every year.
Al-Marjan Island
It is an artificial island connected to the Dammam pier across a bridge. It has everything that tourist and families need, such as green spaces, seating areas and children’s playgrounds. Also, you can enjoy a sea ferry by special boat rides to and from the island with a free meal.
Dammam Regional Museum
It is a museum with six halls in which you can travel through time, starting from the Stone Age to the present. Also, there are archeology specialists who are responsible for providing explanations for the visitors. You can visit the museum during the morning from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 noon and during the evening from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. every day except Thursday and Friday
Dolphin Village
It is an entertainment village located at the entrance of Al-Marjan Island (Coral Island) on the Al Dammam Corniche. It contains amusement rides, a swimming pool, daily dolphin and seal shows and, circus during Eid vacations and national events.
Share Al-Hob Traditional Market
It displays a lot of traditional goods, and clothing for men, women, and oriental eastern perfumes in addition to gold and jewelry stores that sell very distinct and authentic products.
